UDP Accepts Jemino Mawthoh’s Resignation, New General Secretary to Be Elected Soon: Metbah Lyngdoh

The United Democratic Party (UDP) has officially accepted the resignation of its General Secretary, Jemino Mawthoh. Confirming this development, UDP President Metbah Lyngdoh stated that the party’s next Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting will elect a new General Secretary.

“We have accepted his (Jemino Mawthoh) resignation. The next Executive Committee meeting of UDP is planned for month end and if not then probably in the first week of July,” Lyngdoh said.

When asked about the UDP’s political trajectory in Meghalaya, Lyngdoh expressed confidence in the party’s steady growth. “From one election to another election, from one MLA election to another MLA election, we are growing no doubt about it, we are working in that same line… We will still continue to work,” he affirmed.
