National People’s Party (NPP) Block Unit in Williamnagar unanimously resolved to field Sengbath R. Marak as its official candidate for the upcoming Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) election from 29-Williamnagar Constituency.
The political pulse of the meeting surged with the presence of Cabinet Minister and local MLA Marcuise N. Marak, whose attendance added significant strategic heft to the proceedings, underscoring the party’s intent to consolidate its hold over the constituency.
The candidature proposal was formally moved by Block President Roson M. Sangma, seconded by Block Secretary Jerubell Ch. Marak, and fortified by the endorsement of NPYF Block President Yesterbirth Sangma—demonstrating a synchronised push from both senior and youth leadership tiers.
“This is a collective decision that mirrors the aspirations of our grassroots karyakartas. Sengbath R. Marak is the people’s choice,” said a senior party functionary following the resolution.
With the resolution now enjoying the consensus of all village-level units under the block, the final recommendation is poised to be forwarded to the Party High Command for ratification—marking a crucial step in NPP’s calibrated election strategy for the GHADC polls.
