Police Will Soon Record Blogger’s Statement in Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case

Shillong, June 19: East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem on Thursday informed that police have written to Instagram seeking details about a social media blogger who uploaded two videos related to the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case. One video shows Raja with his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, while another reportedly features three other accused individuals at Nongriat.

“We reached out to him and have written to Instagram to provide us with details. We’ve only contacted him so far, but he hasn’t responded. We’ve now officially requested Instagram’s assistance so that his statement can also be recorded,” said Syiem, responding to growing public interest around the viral posts.

When asked about a co-passenger’s claim of spotting Sonam Raghuvanshi in Varanasi on June 7, the SP dismissed it, stating, “The passenger’s claim doesn’t add up. Sonam was still in Indore on the 7th. So whoever was seen in Varanasi, it wasn’t her. That sighting becomes irrelevant, as it cannot be treated as fact.”

As public scrutiny intensifies and digital evidence surfaces, police are actively following all online leads to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the murder of the Indore-based businessman.
