In a move to strengthen border security, the vigilant personnel of Umkiang Police Patrol Post (PPP), in close coordination with the Border Security Force (BSF), conducted an extensive joint patrolling operation along the Indo-Bangladesh border in East Jaintia Hills on 11th August 2025.
This collaborative effort targeted key vulnerable stretches notorious for illegal cross-border activities, demonstrating a firm commitment to safeguarding the region from smuggling, infiltration, and other unlawful movements.
The joint patrol focused on maintaining a constant security presence in the border areas, deploying personnel strategically to monitor and secure sensitive points along the international boundary. The operation involved thorough inspections and vigilant surveillance aimed at deterring criminal activities and ensuring the safety and integrity of the border region.
“The patrolling covered key vulnerable stretches, focusing on preventing illegal cross-border activities, and maintaining a constant security presence in the border areas,” East Jaintia Hills police said in a social media statement.
The joint patrolling is expected to boost confidence among border communities while sending a clear message to those involved in illegal activities that the authorities remain vigilant and resolute in protecting the sovereignty of the nation.
