In a major stride towards educational reform, the Education Department, Government of Meghalaya, through SEMAM–Samagra Shiksha, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ashok Leyland Foundation under the flagship Road to Schools programme. The partnership is aimed at revolutionising learning outcomes, art education, and physical education across 148 government schools in Mylliem and Mawphlang blocks with robust CSR backing.
The formal signing was graced by key dignitaries including the State Project Director and Deputy State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha SEMAM, alongside senior officials from Ashok Leyland Foundation. The transformative initiative is powered by a strategic collaboration between Ashok Leyland Foundation, Learning Links Foundation, and the state’s Education Department.
“This initiative marks a significant milestone in our mission to deliver quality education at the grassroots level,” said an official present at the event.
With this ambitious partnership, Meghalaya is set to witness a paradigm shift in the quality of education delivered in government schools—empowering students with holistic learning, creativity, and physical development.
