Senior Meghalaya BJP legislator and National Executive member AL Hek on Tuesday expressed his readiness to campaign in any constituency in Assam for the party ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. Speaking to media persons in Shillong, Hek said that while there has been no formal communication from Assam BJP regarding campaigning by leaders from Meghalaya, he and his colleagues remain prepared to extend support.
“It is the responsibility of all party leaders to campaign in other states when elections are held. It will depend on the Assam BJP leadership to guide us on which constituencies to go to, and we are ready whenever they ask,” he said.
Asked whether any official communication had been received from Assam BJP, Hek said, “Not yet, and the elections have not even been announced so far.”
