Youth, Education and Nation-Building in Focus as Dr. Kazi Welcomes Munawar Zama

With over 70 percent of Meghalaya’s population comprising youths and education emerging as the most critical driver for employment, social mobility and nation-building, the focus has sharply shifted to youth empowerment as renowned international motivational speaker  Munawar Zama begins his visit to the region, lending momentum to a broader discourse on education-led development.

Ahead of his keynote address at a grand Islamic conference scheduled for December 16, 2025, at Jamiul Uloom Rahmania Madrassa, Chibinang, under the Phulbari constituency, Munawar Zama was accorded a dignified reception at Guwahati Airport. Meghalaya MLA from the Rajabala constituency, Dr. Mizanur Rahman Kazi, honoured him with the National Tricolour, marking the first time the speaker was welcomed with the national flag, a symbolic gesture underscoring the link between education, youth leadership and national values.

The conference is expected to witness a massive public turnout, with  Munawar Zama participating as the Keynote Speaker and former Member of Parliament from Assam, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event is being positioned as a high-impact platform to reinforce the importance of education, character building and moral leadership in shaping a youth-driven Meghalaya.

A distinguished delegation was present at the airport to receive him, including Rofiqul Islam Sarker, Principal of Bhaitbari Higher Secondary School; Abdul Kalam Azad, noted social activist; Sohail Kazi, Software Engineer; Hedayatullah Kazi, NGO and social activist; Mostopha Kobir, NGO and social activist, along with several other community leaders and well-wishers.

On public demand and at the special request of local leadership and youth representatives,  Munawar Zama also attended a Meet and Greet programme at Bhaitbari Higher Secondary School, Rajabala, organised under the leadership of MLA Dr. Mizanur Rahman Kazi. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from people across communities, reflecting the speaker’s wide reach and growing influence among the youth.

During the interaction, Mr. Munawar Zama underscored the critical role of education, moral strength, character development, career planning and right guidance for young people, emphasising that value-based education remains central to sustainable nation-building and social cohesion.

In a significant assurance welcomed by the audience,  Munawar Zama announced that he would return to the region on January 27 next year to deliver three to four motivational sessions for different communities, reaffirming his commitment to youth empowerment and educational awareness.

The upcoming conference at Jamiul Uloom Rahmania Madrassa, Chibinang, with Maulana Badruddin Ajmal as Chief Guest and  Munawar Zama as Keynote Speaker, is expected to emerge as a landmark event, reinforcing the message that education is the most decisive instrument for harnessing Meghalaya’s youth potential and steering it towards inclusive growth and responsible citizenship.
