Shillong, August 22: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday held a series of review meetings with multiple departments in Meghalaya’s capital. When approached by the media on issues of infiltration and border security breach, the Minister declined to comment, stating, “I am not entitled to reply.”
Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Shakil P. Ahammed later clarified, “MoS Home Affairs visited Shillong today and had a detailed review of the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in the state. Interacted with different departments and sought the views and issues pending with the centre he assured to take it up with the centre. All the central sector schemes he has evaluated and check and given suggestions where required, pending issues he will take up with the centre.”
