A local court in Mawkyrwat has remanded three arrested suspects to three days of police custody, while two others remain admitted in hospital. Superintendent of Police, South West Khasi Hills District, B. Jyrwa, said, “2 are presently in hospital. They are in hospital for treatment.”
Earlier on Sunday morning, the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended a fifth suspect in connection with the attacking of a man by an armed gang from across the Bangladesh border, allegedly for attempting to block their movement into Indian territory, in Meghalaya’s South West Khasi Hills district on Friday night. The incident occurred in Khonjoy village, under the Nongjri–Nonghyllam sector near the Bangladesh border.
