In a sensational twist to the high-profile Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, a local court in Shillong has extended the judicial custody of all five accused — including the victim’s wife and her alleged lover — by another 14 days.
Assistant Public Prosecutor Advocate Tushar Chanda informed that the accused — Sonam, Raj, Vishal, Anand, and Akash — were produced before the court through video conferencing, after which the extension order was passed. He further clarified that no bail plea was moved on their behalf.
Raja Raghuvanshi was allegedly killed on May 23 while on his honeymoon in Meghalaya. His decomposed body was found nearly 10 days later, on June 2, dumped in a deep gorge near the scenic Weisawdong Falls—sending shockwaves across the country.
