Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills District, Vivek Syiem, on Sunday said two youths were injured in a fight between members of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) and another group near Dr. H. Gordon Roberts Hospital, Jaiaw, on Saturday night. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment and later discharged.
Syiem informed that the situation was brought under control soon after a police team was dispatched to the spot. “It was a group clash. Some KSU boys assaulted. Matter under control. Two persons minor injuries. Assault and counter assault,” the SP said.
Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the altercation.
“Will make an enquiry into the incident,” he added.
Further, the SP said no FIR filed so far.
