The Government of Meghalaya has notified the setting up of a Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare (CIJW) School at Baghmara in South Garo Hills district, aimed at enhancing specialised training for security forces in the state.
According to a notification issued by the Home (Police) Department, the CIJW School will provide structured training in counter-insurgency and jungle warfare to personnel of the Meghalaya Police and commando forces. The facility will also be used to train specialised units in operational techniques suited to forest and difficult terrain.
The move is intended to strengthen professional training infrastructure for security forces and improve preparedness in handling counter-insurgency and jungle-based operations within the state.
