MBOSE announce HSSLC examination results


The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) on Monday announced the results of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations, with all three major streams registering robust pass percentages and several districts posting near-perfect outcomes, underlining a steady consolidation in school education standards across the State.
In the science stream, Dechro M Marak of Don Bosco College, Tura secured the top rank with 472 marks, narrowly ahead of Amos Chinminlun from St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, who scored 470. Vishal Rai of Laban Bengalee Boy’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong followed in third place with 464 marks. The stream recorded a pass percentage of 83.70%, with 3,124 of 3,732 candidates clearing the examination across 70 centres. South West Garo Hills emerged as the best-performing district with a 100% pass rate, followed by West Khasi Hills at 95.78% and West Jaintia Hills at 93.50%.
The arts stream, which saw the highest number of candidates, registered a pass percentage of 88.63%, with 20,882 of 23,559 students declared successful across 113 centres. Meghashree Roy of St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong topped the stream with 457 marks. Joziah Daman Laloo and Nakisakahuni M Pakyntein, both from St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, secured the second and third ranks with 452 and 446 marks respectively. East Khasi Hills and Eastern West Khasi Hills jointly recorded the highest district pass percentage at 96.20%, followed by West Khasi Hills at 94.94% and West Jaintia Hills at 92.98%.
In the commerce stream, Priya Ghosh of St Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong secured the first position with 458 marks. Ankita Das and Rishika Debnath, both from St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, followed closely with 453 and 452 marks respectively. The stream recorded a pass percentage of 87.49%, with 2,155 out of 2,463 candidates clearing the examination across 58 centres. East Jaintia Hills led district performance with 98.18%, followed by West Jaintia Hills at 94.70% and Eastern West Khasi Hills at 94.68%.
The vocational stream recorded the highest success rate at 95.23%, with 20 out of 21 candidates passing the examination, albeit with a smaller pool of students.

Your hard work, discipline, and determination have brought you to this important milestone. This year’s results are encouraging across all streams: Arts: 88.63%, Science: 83.70%, Commerce: 87.49%, Vocational: 95.23%. Wishing all our students the very best for their future endeavours. Keep striving, keep believing, and keep moving forward!”
