In a major reshuffle of the Meghalaya Police aimed at strengthening field administration across the Khasi and Garo Hills, the State Government on Tuesday transferred and reassigned several IPS and MPS officers in key operational, intelligence and district-level postings. Vivekanand Singh, IPS(RR 2012), Deputy Inspector General of Police, Eastern Range, Shillong, was posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Western Range, Tura, while Jerry Fiscer K. Marak, IPS(SPS 2011), moved from Tura to Shillong as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Eastern Range. The transfer orders, issued by F.R. Kharkongor, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Home (Police) Department, followed recommendations of the Civil Services Board and the Police Establishment Board. The notification stated, “In the interest of public service and on the recommendation of the Civil Services Board(CSB), Vivekanand Singh, IPS(RR 2012), Deputy Inspector General of Police, Eastern Range(ER), Shillong is transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Western Range(WR), Tura vice Jerry Fiscer K. Marak, IPS transferred, with effect from the date of taking over charge or until further orders.” It further stated, “In the interest of public service and on the recommendation of the Civil Services Board(CSB), Jerry Fiscer K. Marak, IPS(SPS 2011), Deputy Inspector General of Police, Western Range(WR), Tura is transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Eastern Range(ER), Shillong vice Vivekanand Singh, IPS transferred, with effect from the date of taking over charge or until further orders.”
The reshuffle also witnessed Siddharth Kumar Ambedkar, IPS(RR 2014), being shifted from Commandant, 5th MLP Battalion, Samanda, to Commandant, 6th MLP Battalion, Umran, while Shailendra Bamaniya, IPS(RR 2016), Superintendent of Police, South Garo Hills District, Baghmara, was posted as Superintendent of Police, CID, Shillong. Pawar Swapnil Vasantrao, IPS(RR 2020), Superintendent of Police, North Garo Hills District, Resubelpara, was transferred as Superintendent of Police, East Garo Hills District, Williamnagar, and Naman Kumar, IPS(RR 2021), Superintendent of Police(VIS), Shillong, was posted as Superintendent of Police, CM Security, Shillong. Dewansh Pandey, IPS(RR 2021), Superintendent of Police, City, Shillong, was transferred as Assistant Inspector General of Police(L&O), Shillong, while Ashish, IPS(RR 2021), Commandant, 6th MLP Battalion, Umran, was posted as Superintendent of Police, VIS, Shillong. Ishan Gupta, IPS(RR 2021), Superintendent of Police, CM Security, Shillong, was transferred as Superintendent of Police, North Garo Hills District, Resubelpara, and Hari Prasant M.R, IPS(RR 2021), Superintendent of Police, MPRO, Tura, was posted as Superintendent of Police(Traffic), East Khasi Hills, Shillong.
Among MPS officers, Stephen A. Rynjah, Superintendent of Police, East Garo Hills District, Williamnagar, was posted as Commandant, 5th MLP Battalion, Samanda, East Garo Hills, while Ringrang T.G. Momin, Superintendent of Police, CID, Shillong, was transferred as Superintendent of Police, South Garo Hills District, Baghmara. Geffry Waemhok Lyngdoh, Assistant Inspector General of Police(L&O), was posted as Superintendent of Police, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, Mairang, and Dangsan Khyriem, Superintendent of Police, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, Mairang, was transferred as Superintendent of Police, City, Shillong.
