“Let’s Paint Byrnihat Purple!” ISO Urges CM to Revive Byrnihat’s Loss Charm With Jacaranda Blooms

In a spirited plea brimming with environmental passion and youthful ambition, the Indian Students’ Organisation (ISO) has written to Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma seeking an urgent appointment to present a bold vision—reviving Byrnihat’s lost charm through a sweeping plantation of Jacaranda trees.

“Byrnihat was once a thriving tourist haven,” the ISO reminded in the letter, “but pollution has since cast a shadow over its charm.” The organisation envisions transforming the area into a vibrant ecological paradise, shimmering with the iconic purple bloom of Jacaranda trees.

“We want to turn Byrnihat into a purple canvas of hope and renewal,” the letter said. “These trees are not only breathtakingly beautiful but also natural air purifiers.”

Highlighting their strategy, ISO President Durlav Talukdar noted, “We wish to collaborate with local communities, schools, and environmentalists to plant and nurture Jacarandas, making it a model of sustainable growth.” The team further dreams of launching a unique “Jacaranda Festival” to draw tourists and celebrate this botanical renaissance.

“Your visionary leadership makes you the perfect partner for this cause,” the organisation wrote to the CM, requesting a brief meeting. “Let’s make Byrnihat bloom again.”

The ISO, a pan-India collective of environmentally driven students, believes the initiative could redefine eco-tourism in Meghalaya. “With your support, we can paint it purple and bring back its glory,” they signed off, echoing a call for a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful future.
