In a significant political development, former Nongkrem legislator Lambor Malngiang is set to be officially inducted into the National People’s Party (NPP) on Thursday, marking another major step in the party’s strategy to strengthen its political base across Meghalaya. The Ceremonial Induction Programme, organized by the NPP, will formally welcome Malngiang and his supporters into the party’s growing ranks.
The move comes shortly after a massive political show of strength in Garo Hills, where over 600 workers from various political outfits joined the NPP, expressing confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister and NPP National President Conrad K. Sangma. Extending a warm welcome, Sangma urged the new entrants to work in unity.
