Street Play at Motphran Spotlights Drug Abuse Awareness Under DREAM Mission

Displaying community engagement and street theatre, Lympung Seng Kynthei, in collaboration with the Meghalaya government’s anti-drug initiative DREAM (Drug Reduction Elimination and Action Mission), staged a compelling street play at Motphran in Shillong on Tuesday to raise awareness about the devastating impact of drug abuse.

The open-air performance drew the attention of passersby and youth, delivering a hard-hitting message against substance misuse and encouraging healthier choices. The initiative aims to engage the public directly through cultural means, fostering dialogue and reflection on a rising concern across the state.

Mission Director of the DREAM Project, Francis G. Kharshiing, was present during the performance, lending his support to the campaign.

The DREAM Mission, launched by the state government, continues to scale up its grassroots outreach, working in tandem with civil society groups to build resilience, promote prevention, and offer rehabilitation support for affected individuals.
