An unidentified miscreant allegedly hurled a petrol bomb at Lumdiengjri Police Station in Shillong on Wednesday night, causing minor damage to the window glass at the rear side of the Officer-in-Charge’s room.
The incident occurred at around 9:30–9:40 p.m. on September 16, 2026, when the petrol bomb struck the rear portion of the OC’s room. The impact slightly damaged the window glass, but no one was injured.
Confirming the incident, Idashisha Nongrang, IPS, Director General of Police, said that the matter had been reported and that further details were being ascertained. Police have initiated an investigation to identify the person responsible and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
