Projecting an image of stability and political stewardship, Sangma asserted, “Meghalaya continues to be a peaceful state with an enabling atmosphere for development and business.”
Framing the breakthrough within the ambit of cooperative federalism, he said, “A significant milestone has been the advancement made in resolving the long-standing border issues with Assam, guided by the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two states.”
Stressing that the Hahim pillar signals momentum, he underlined, “Following the Chief Minister-level meeting, the construction of the inter-state boundary pillar in the Hahim area has been completed, and steady progress is being made in other locations.” Sangma maintained that the process “marks a notable progress toward a lasting resolution and cooperation between the two neighboring states.”
Ahead of the Assembly elections, the Assam government is striving to project a significant breakthrough with regards to the boundary dispute issue between Assam and Meghalaya.
