GHADC Orders Release of 10 Months’ Pending Salaries, Assures Regular Payments from November

Tura, September 18: In a major relief for employees of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), the Executive Committee has directed the immediate disbursement of 10 months’ pending salaries while assuring that the remaining backlog will be cleared in three installments at the earliest.

The order, issued by the Secretary to the Executive Committee, further stated that starting November 1, 2025, salaries will be disbursed regularly every month. Employees, who had long been demanding clearance of dues, have been asked to resume duties immediately following the directive.

This decision comes after prolonged unrest among GHADC staff over salary delays, which had severely impacted functioning of the Council. The assurance of structured payments is expected to restore normalcy within the administrative machinery.
