Mudslide Disrupts Traffic on NH-6 in Kuliang, East Jaintia Hills

Commuters Advised to Take Alternate Routes as Clearing Operations Continue

East Jaintia Hills, June 1: Incessant rainfall has triggered a mudslide along National Highway-6 (NH-6) at Kuliang in East Jaintia Hills district, severely disrupting vehicular movement on both sides of the arterial route.

The landslide, caused by continuous downpours, has rendered a crucial stretch of NH-6 impassable, affecting transport and supply chains between Meghalaya and neighbouring states. Emergency response teams have been deployed and road clearance operations are currently underway.

Authorities have urged commuters to avoid the affected area and use alternative routes until the highway is fully restored for safe passage.
