Indore Couple Missing in Meghalaya’s Sohra, Search Operation Underway

Two tourists from Indore, Madhya Pradesh — Sonam Raghuvanshi and her husband Raja Raghuvanshi — have been reported missing for over 24 hours while visiting Sohra (Cherrapunji) in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district, raising serious concerns about their safety.

According to police sources, the couple had rented a two-wheeler to explore the popular tourist destination. The vehicle was later found abandoned near Sohra Rim, a well-known viewpoint in the region. Authorities also confirmed that multiple attempts to reach the couple have failed, as both of their mobile phones remain switched off.

The last known sighting of the couple was on Sunday. Since then, there has been no communication from them. A search operation has been launched, and police are actively investigating, including reviewing CCTV footage and speaking with local residents.

Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, Vivek Syiem said, “Efforts are ongoing to trace the couple’s whereabouts.” He added, “The search operation is on.”
