In the quiet hills of Meghalaya, stories of strength have long echoed in silence. Today, they resound across the nation through the remarkable achievements of para-athletes who have turned challenges into triumphs. At the forefront stands Miss Prisca Pyngrope—a symbol of grit, resilience, and inspiration.
Confined to a wheelchair but limitless in spirit, Prisca has emerged as a formidable name in the world of para arm wrestling. Competing in the 65 kg below category, she claimed back-to-back gold medals at the 22nd and 23rd Para Asian Arm Wrestling Championships 2025 which was concluded recently at New Delhi. She is also the only para athelete from Meghalaya to represent in Khelo India Para Games, continuing her legacy of excellence and demonstrating that true strength lies in the mind and heart.
Prisca’s daily routine reflects the discipline behind her success.
“I go to work in the morning, then head to the gym and attend physical training,” she shares.
“I move around in a wheelchair. During rainy days, I face a lot of trouble—traveling becomes difficult in the hilly terrain of Shillong,” Pyngrope added.
But even the harshest challenges haven’t slowed her down. She continues to break barriers, showing that true strength lies not in limbs, but in the resolve of the mind and heart.
Her story is a beacon for many—reminding us that courage, when paired with consistency, can rewrite the future.
