Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills Abhilash Baranwal said the Meghalaya High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the incident.
“Meghalaya High Court has taken Sumotto cognizance of the incident,” Baranwal said.
He said that among the 31 vehicles vandalised, one belonged to the Joint Registrar of the High Court.
“High Court has taken this very seriously and it has asked government to submit a report,” he said.
Baranwal appealed to the KSU leadership and members to respect the administration’s orders.
“Please do respect the order of the administration. Please do not come out for procession and sit in demonstration tomorrow,” he said.
He added that the High Court had taken up the case very strongly.
